    Propane & HD-5

HD-5 is the highest commercial grade of propane, containing at least 90% propane and no more than 5% propylene. Tropigas exclusively supplies HD-5 because it burns cleaner, produces more consistent heat output, and causes less wear on appliances compared to lower grades — the gold standard for residential and commercial use in Sint Maarten.

Yes. Tropigas HD-5 propane is suitable for all standard propane appliances including stoves, ovens, water heaters, pool heaters, dryers, and propane-powered generators. Our team can advise on the correct setup for your specific appliances.

Most cylinders have a pressure gauge — when the needle drops into the red zone, it's time to order. We recommend scheduling a refill at 25% capacity to avoid running out. Tropigas also offers subscription delivery plans that automatically schedule refills based on your usage history.

Yes. For restaurants, hotels, industrial facilities, and other high-volume users, Tropigas offers bulk propane delivery with dedicated account management, priority scheduling, and flexible billing. Contact our commercial team to set up a tailored delivery plan.

    CO2 Services

Food-grade CO2 meets strict purity standards — it contains no contaminants harmful to humans and is safe for beverages, food preservation, and restaurant applications. Industrial CO2 is for non-food applications like welding, fire suppression, and manufacturing. Tropigas supplies both grades.

Absolutely. Tropigas supplies food-grade CO2 certified for beverage carbonation including sodas, sparkling water, draft beer systems, and cocktail carbonation, in standard sizes compatible with most commercial dispensing equipment in Sint Maarten.

Our CO2 customers include restaurants, bars, hotels, cruise ship provisioning, supermarkets, fish and seafood processors, medical facilities, and manufacturing operations. CO2 is also used in swimming pool pH management and agricultural applications.

Every batch undergoes monthly independent laboratory testing. We provide certificates of analysis on request, and our protocols meet international food safety standards — giving customers full confidence in the purity and safety of every CO2 cylinder we deliver.

    Industrial Gases

Tropigas supplies a complete industrial gas portfolio: oxygen, argon, acetylene, nitrogen, helium, nitrous oxide, and industrial-grade CO2. Whether you need gases for welding, medical use, laboratory analysis, food processing, or event decoration, we have the right product and cylinder size for your application.

Some gases — particularly medical oxygen, nitrous oxide, and acetylene — require documentation verifying intended use and compliance with local regulations. Standard industrial gases like argon, nitrogen, and helium are available to all business customers. Our team will guide you through the requirements.

Yes. Tropigas serves manufacturing facilities, laboratories, research institutions, and industrial operations with cylinders, manifold systems, and scheduled delivery. For high-volume or continuous supply needs, we can customize a delivery and cylinder management program for your operation.

    Delivery & Ordering

Call +1 (721) 588-6363, email hello@tropigassxm.com, or use the order form on our website. For regular customers, we recommend a recurring delivery plan so you're never caught without gas. Our team confirms your order and provides an estimated delivery window.

We deliver Monday through Saturday during standard business hours. Same-day delivery is available for residential customers who place orders in the morning. For emergency business or industrial deliveries, call us directly to discuss availability.

Delivery fees depend on your location, order size, and account type. Residential deliveries within Cole Bay and central Sint Maarten areas are often included in the product price for standard orders. Contact our team for a delivery quote specific to your address.

Once your order is confirmed, our team will provide an estimated arrival window and keep you updated by phone or message. Our customer service team is always available for real-time updates on your delivery status.

    Propane Safety

Always store propane cylinders upright in a well-ventilated outdoor area, away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Never store cylinders indoors or in enclosed garages. When connecting or disconnecting, ensure all appliance valves are closed first. If you smell gas, leave the area immediately and call Tropigas or emergency services.

If you smell propane's rotten-egg odor, do not switch any electrical devices on or off. Leave the area immediately, leaving doors open as you exit. Call from outside — contact Tropigas at +1 (721) 588-6363 and Sint Maarten emergency services if needed.

Yes. All cylinders used by Tropigas are pressure-tested and certified according to international safety standards. We inspect, maintain, and retire cylinders based on manufacturer guidelines and regulatory requirements. Damaged or expired cylinders are never used for delivery.

Tropigas operates in full compliance with Sint Maarten's applicable gas safety and transport regulations. Our staff are trained in safe handling, storage, and transport of all gases, including compressed, liquefied, and dissolved gases.

    Pricing & Payment

Propane is priced per kilogram or per cylinder fill, depending on your account type. Commercial and volume accounts may qualify for negotiated pricing. Our rates are competitive within the Caribbean market and reflect the HD-5 quality standard and monthly independent testing. Contact us for a current price quote.

Tropigas accepts cash, bank transfer, and major debit/credit cards. Commercial account holders may qualify for net-30 invoice terms. For recurring delivery customers, we offer convenient recurring payment setup.

Yes. For commercial, industrial, or bulk orders, we recommend requesting a quote before ordering. Our team will assess your volume requirements and provide a detailed proposal covering product cost, delivery, and any applicable cylinder rental fees.

Yes. We offer volume pricing tiers for commercial and industrial customers with regular purchasing relationships. Long-term residential customers on subscription delivery plans also benefit from priority service and rate stability.

    Inter-Island Delivery

Yes. Tropigas serves Anguilla, Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Barth, and St. Kitts and Nevis with inter-island gas delivery. We can arrange regular or one-time delivery for resorts, restaurants, medical facilities, and private customers on neighboring islands.

Minimums vary by destination and gas type. For propane, most island orders require a minimum of several cylinders to make transport cost-effective. Contact our team with your island location and gas needs for a custom quote.

    Emergency Service

Call Tropigas at +1 (721) 588-6363 immediately. While we primarily operate during business hours, we do our best to accommodate genuine after-hours emergencies. In the meantime, safely disconnect your appliances from the empty cylinder. Never attempt to transfer gas between cylinders.

Contact us at +1 (721) 588-6363 for any emergency outage. We evaluate after-hours requests case by case, particularly for medical facilities, restaurants mid-service, and vulnerable residential customers. The best prevention is enrolling in our proactive subscription delivery plan.

A gas emergency involves a suspected leak, unusual odor, damaged cylinder, or equipment malfunction — requiring immediate action: leave the area, call emergency services, then call Tropigas. A normal refill need is simply running low — place a standard order by phone or website.

Always call Sint Maarten emergency services (911) first in a life-threatening situation — fire, explosion risk, or gas poisoning. Once you are safe and emergency services are on the way, call Tropigas at +1 (721) 588-6363 to report the incident and coordinate cylinder replacement.

Enroll in Tropigas's subscription delivery service, which schedules automatic refills based on your usage history. Also install a cylinder pressure gauge to monitor levels in real time, and keep one spare cylinder on hand at all times.

    Environment & Sustainability

Yes. Propane is one of the cleanest fossil fuels available, producing significantly lower carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and particulate emissions compared to diesel, fuel oil, and coal — a meaningful emissions improvement for island communities that depend on imported fuel.

No. The CO2 Tropigas supplies is captured and repurposed industrial gas. In food, beverage, and fire suppression applications, it operates as part of a closed-loop system and does not contribute to net greenhouse gas output the way burning fossil fuels does.

Absolutely. Propane generators emit roughly 40% fewer greenhouse gases than equivalent diesel generators — reducing both emissions and operating costs over time for Sint Maarten businesses that depend on backup power.

Tropigas is committed to responsible practices including proper cylinder maintenance and recycling programs to minimize waste, efficient delivery routing to reduce vehicle emissions, and ongoing evaluation of lower-emission energy products as the Caribbean energy market evolves.

    Cylinder Ownership & Sizes

Yes. Tropigas has a cylinder retirement and safe disposal process for expired or damaged cylinders. When a cylinder reaches the end of its certified service life, it is removed from circulation and handled per safety and environmental guidelines. Never attempt to dispose of a gas cylinder yourself — contact Tropigas.

In most cases, Tropigas retains ownership of the cylinders we supply and a cylinder rental fee is part of the service. If you have purchased your own cylinder elsewhere, you can bring it to us for refilling after we inspect it for safety and valid certification.

Yes. Tropigas offers cylinders for outright purchase in select sizes. Purchasing your own cylinder can be cost-effective for long-term customers with stable gas needs. Contact our team to discuss available sizes and current pricing.

Every cylinder has a manufacture and test date stamped on the collar or valve handle. Cylinders must be re-certified every 10 years in most jurisdictions. If your certification date has expired, Tropigas cannot legally fill it. Bring it to our facility and we will assess whether it can be re-certified or must be retired.

Tropigas offers propane cylinders from 5 kg portable cylinders for camping or backup cooking, to standard household 12 kg and 20 kg cylinders, and large commercial 45 kg and 100+ kg cylinders for restaurants, hotels, and industrial users. We also facilitate bulk tank installations for high-volume sites.

    Restaurant & Hospitality

Yes, as long as it passes our safety inspection. We check for physical damage, expired certification dates, valve condition, and compatibility with our filling equipment. If the cylinder is in good condition and within its service period, we can fill it on-site. We will not fill a cylinder that fails inspection.

Store spare cylinders upright, outdoors, in a well-ventilated area away from heat sources, open flames, and direct sunlight. Never store propane cylinders indoors, in basements, or in garages even with the valve closed. Use a cage, chain, or dedicated stand to keep them stable. Always keep the valve cap on when not connected.

Yes. Tropigas has a commercial restaurant program including priority delivery, flexible cylinder exchange, dedicated account management, and competitive volume pricing. Running out of gas during service is not an option — which is why we prioritize commercial food service customers in our delivery schedule.

Yes. We supply food-grade CO2 in the sizes most commonly used by bars and restaurants for soda guns, sparkling water dispensers, draft beer systems, and craft cocktail carbonation. Our CO2 is independently tested monthly and certified to food-grade purity standards.

Usage varies by number of burners, hours of operation, and menu style. A high-volume restaurant running multiple commercial ranges may go through one or more 45 kg cylinders per week. We recommend a usage assessment — our team will recommend a delivery frequency to keep you running without excess inventory.

    Medical Gases

Yes. Commercial restaurant accounts receive priority scheduling, especially during high season (December through April) and major events. We strongly recommend setting up a recurring delivery plan before peak season begins so your supply is locked in.

Absolutely. Tropigas supplies propane for outdoor cooking operations of all scales — mobile food trucks, pop-up restaurants, and beach BBQ setups catering hundreds of guests. We advise on the right cylinder size and connection type and deliver directly to your outdoor venue location.

Tropigas food-grade CO2 meets international food safety purity standards and is supported by monthly third-party laboratory analysis. Certificates of analysis are available on request, providing documented proof of product purity for regulatory compliance.

Tropigas supplies medical-grade oxygen to healthcare facilities in Sint Maarten and neighboring islands. Medical oxygen is held to higher purity standards than industrial oxygen and is delivered in dedicated, certified medical cylinders. Contact our commercial team to establish a reliable supply schedule.

Healthcare facilities purchasing medical oxygen, nitrous oxide, or other controlled gases must provide valid clinical operating licenses, proof of authorized use, and in some cases a prescribing physician's authorization. Our team will guide your facility through the specific requirements for each gas type.

    Welding & Industrial Gases

Tropigas supplies nitrous oxide for dental sedation and clinical procedures when purchased by licensed dental or medical practitioners with appropriate documentation. The gas must be handled by trained clinical staff and used with proper medical delivery equipment. Contact us to confirm current availability and required credentials.

Medical gas deliveries are scheduled, logged, and handled by trained staff who understand the criticality of uninterrupted clinical supply. We offer dedicated scheduling, emergency backup supply coordination, and compliance documentation for healthcare customers.

Yes. Medical gases are handled, transported, and stored separately from industrial gases with strict cleanliness and safety protocols. Cylinders used for medical gases are dedicated exclusively to medical-grade product and never mixed with industrial inventory.

Tropigas supplies the full welding gas range: oxygen for cutting and oxy-acetylene welding, acetylene for oxy-fuel operations, argon and argon/CO2 blends for MIG and TIG welding, and nitrogen for purging and specialized applications — covering welding shops, marine repair facilities, and construction operations throughout Sint Maarten.

Both are high-purity oxygen products, but medical oxygen must meet pharmaceutical-grade standards including stricter moisture control, purity testing, and cylinder cleanliness. Industrial oxygen should never be used for inhalation or clinical purposes. Always specify your intended use when ordering.

    Events & Special Occasions

Yes. For large-scale projects — shipyard work, marine vessel repair, large construction sites, or industrial installations — Tropigas arranges project-based supply including multiple cylinder deliveries, scheduled restocking, and cylinder management tailored to your project timeline.

Yes. Tropigas supplies acetylene in standard industrial cylinders for oxy-acetylene welding, cutting, and brazing operations. Acetylene is a controlled gas due to its high flammability — our team follows all safety protocols for its storage, transport, and handling.

Gas consumption depends on the process, material type and thickness, cut length, and operator technique. Tropigas's industrial team can help you estimate consumption and recommend the appropriate cylinder size. When in doubt, order slightly more than your estimate — unused gas can be returned or credited.

Yes. Tropigas supplies helium for balloon decorations, event setups, and party supplies throughout Sint Maarten — from birthday parties to large corporate events or festivals. Contact us to arrange delivery or pickup from our Cole Bay facility. Order at least 48 hours in advance for event planning.

    Marine Propane

For large events — weddings, corporate functions, festivals, or multi-day catering — place your gas order at least 5 to 7 business days in advance. During peak season (December through April), even earlier is recommended to ensure products and quantities are properly allocated.

Absolutely. Tropigas supplies propane for outdoor catering of all scales — mobile food trucks, pop-up restaurants, beach cookouts, and large catering setups. We advise on the right cylinder size and burner connection type and deliver directly to your event venue across Sint Maarten.

Yes. Our delivery team is familiar with Sint Maarten's varied geography — beach venues, resort properties, remote hillside locations, and unique event sites. Let us know your delivery address when ordering and we will confirm feasibility. Early ordering is always recommended for remote deliveries.

Minimums vary by gas type and location. For helium, we typically have a one-cylinder minimum. For propane event delivery, minimum quantities depend on your total order and distance. Contact our team with your event date, location, and gas requirements for a custom quote.

Yes. Tropigas supplies propane for marine use — from small sailboats with galley stoves to large charter yachts with full onboard cooking systems. Marine-grade propane use requires specific cylinder types and pressure regulators designed for marine environments. Our team can advise on the right setup for your vessel.

    New Accounts & Setup

Marine propane systems require cylinders stored in vapor-tight compartments that vent overboard per marine safety standards. American-style OPD valves are standard on most US-flagged vessels; European vessels may use POL or EN connectors. Always consult a certified marine engineer for installation.

Yes. Tropigas delivers to marina facilities and waterfront locations across Sint Maarten. Contact us with your marina slip location and cylinder requirements to arrange delivery. We serve both local boat owners and visiting charter yachts stocking up for the season.

If your onboard propane system uses removable cylinders compatible with our filling equipment, you can bring them to our Cole Bay facility for refilling. Fixed or piped propane tank systems typically require a certified technician to manage the fill process safely. Contact us in advance to confirm your cylinder type.

Store propane cylinders in dedicated overboard-venting compartments — never inside living quarters. Inspect hoses and connections regularly for cracks or corrosion (salt air accelerates degradation). Turn off the cylinder valve when the galley is not in use. Fit a marine-rated LPG detector in the bilge area. Have your propane system inspected by a qualified marine engineer annually.
